The popular "Compost Your Combustibles" program will be open from Saturday May 29th through Sunday July 11th. This program is made possible by the cooperative efforts between the Tahoe Douglas Fire Protection District, South Tahoe Refuse, Heavenly Mountain Resort, Kingsbury General Improvement District, and the Tahoe Village Homeowners Association.

Residents of the Fire District may drop off natural vegetation every day from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Materials accepted include tree slash, brush, pine needles, and pine cones. All materials must be loose, not in bags. No rocks, dirt or other contamination. No garbage.
